EVERYTHING EVO 10 RELATED

Well you know… the beginning.

The test drive finally occurred (many would not let me) and I fell in love, my initial thoughts of how it handled were like that of a 328xi. Not as rigid though, but with a lot less rattle then the ct9a’s and yes I love the 4g63 but I wanted to see what the future held in store for Mitsubishi’s new iteration of their hero car I’d read so much about. Heavier body, lighter engine, active yaw controls first trip over to the United States from Japan I didn’t need anymore convincing. So I pulled the trigger, this image is from the first day my obsession began 7/26/2008 please follow me on my journey there are many things in store.

311RS

If your into time attack and the Evo X then you probably know AMS and if you know AMS then you know Ryan Gates. Ryan Gates has been tearing up the American time attack scene since before 08 when he switched over to his evo 10. Teaming up with various major sponsors Gates has repped so hard for the evo x community that he is now  actually able to give back offering a custom vehicle for purchase based on his award winning race car, called the 311RS. I love this ideal, and decided to blog about it to get the word out for those that may not already have an evo 10 or for those with the bank to add a race prepped one to their stable. The 311RS name itself is awesome reminding me of the Porsche gt2 rs, the video above shows the different offerings available going from 350 hp and 350 tq already is great but you can add different things like track pack to interior upgrade etc so enjoy the vid and tell people that you know about the 311RS. Coilover Knock Sound Fix Attempt

Well I’m not getting a massive amount of blog views but I hope this write up reaches a few that are struggling with creaky coil over knock sounds as much as I have been.

To start off, coil over knock as I dubbed the term is just as it sounds,
A knocking sound coming from any of your after market coil overs usually drivers side front or passenger side rear etc.

When I first heard the sound it was subtle and occurred when I’d hit soft bumps at low speeds. I had my tein mono flex coilovers for three years with about 15k miles only but mechanics would tell me that the noise is the worn out spherical bearing within the pillow ball mount or camber plate. I also learned through personal research that said bearing had to be lubed and the entire coilover  should be cleaned and lubed periodically to prevent corrosion and grit from building up.

There really isn’t a gang of material on this noise issue on the net, so I’m doing trial and error. Many people think its a loose strut nut, worn bearing or just cheap coils so after tightening my strut tower nut and greasing the bearing I still had the noise, digging and digging for info I saw that no one mentioned the tein rubber silencer but someone did mention the swift thrust sheet. Both are designed to be a barrier between metal on spring or spring on spring contact. My issue when my tire was removed revealed itself to be a slight gap in between the top of my spring and it’s spring perch. Where a certain movement would cause a metal on metal rattle, so I bought the tein noise reducer since swift never returned my email about their thrust sheet and installed it. The sound although isn’t 100% gone, is reduced by a major amount. At least 85% gone, when swift gets back to me I’ll order a set of thrust sheets and see if they fully eliminate the issue, until then check out my installation video and follow my blog for my hard to find info on keeping your Evo rattle free, clean as hell and fast as fuck

ASM RECARO

MODEL名:

 RECARO SP-JC ASM LIMITED

For obvious reasons, I’m infatuated with Japan made Recaro and Bride seats right now. Especially this electric automated one, that heats, reclines at the touch of a button from the remote and features ventilation in the form of perforation in the center section. The only problem is that at about 価格:\279,300 or $3,500 it makes it very tough to ever consider a single seat over say a set of Volk Te-37′s there are of coarse less expensive seats from the two manufactures mentioned here that I have my eye on… Stay tuned for my updates.

On my Game

I’m trying to stay creative through the busy times so here’s my current drawing. It’s a little off topic but it’s still hot, let me know what you think or may be what’s the car you’d like to see drawn.
